Meet Matthew


CEC, Executive and Leadership Coach

Matthew is a seasoned executive with 30+ years of leadership experience, specializing in business growth, strategy execution, and coaching. In his corporate life, he led many teams and was a leader in a Canadian staffing firm that grew from $70M in Revenue when he joined, to $350M in revenue. Today, Matthew works with leaders and teams as they navigate the challenges and opportunities inherent in running a business.

Originally from Wales, Matthew settled in Canada with his wife Alyson and three children in 1995. He lives High River just outside Calgary, enjoys playing “old man” soccer, riding motorcycles, and running with his dogs.

The Greenvale Philosophy.

The Greenvale philosophy is grounded in the belief that true growth starts from within and is shaped by the environments we create and inhabit. I work with leaders to recognize their influence in shaping those environments, empowering them to cultivate spaces where both they and their teams can thrive.

I grew up in Wales, in a house called Greenvale, nestled in an old village overlooking a valley in the shadow of the Garth Mountain. History was everywhere—from Bronze Age burial mounds to Roman iron ore mines, and remnants of ancient stone structures hidden and reclaimed by nature.

For millennia, people lived off the land and built their communities by working together—developing culture, building resilience through hardship, and surviving by leaning into the strength of the collective. They grew not only for the next season, but for the next generation.

The same cycles apply to organizations today. Growth and resilience go hand in hand—and strong communities and teamwork remain essential for long-term success.

What keeps me connected to growth, resilience, and thriving today is my work as a TEC Canada Chair and Executive Coach, partnering with business owners, leaders, and their key teams to build lasting cultures and sustainable results. My approach is tailored to the unique needs of each leader and organization, helping them generate the momentum required to navigate the full lifecycle of their business.

Over my 30 years in business, I’ve met with hundreds of companies—and I’ve seen that the difference in an organization’s success more often comes down to the leader: the clarity of the vision they can articulate and the environment they create to foster customer focus, productivity and to retain top talent.

In my capacity as a Certified Executive Coach, I support senior leaders in refining decision-making, deepening their leadership presence, and expanding personal growth. As Chair of Peer Advisory Groups, I cultivate confidential environments where business leaders engage in collective problem-solving, meaningful reflection, and shared learning.
